Whalom Park in Lunenburg, MA, was one of those great little amusement parks developed by the local trolley company to keep their trains busy on weekends. Established in 1893 on Lake Whalom by the Fitchburg & Leominster Street Railway Company, it grew into a small, homey amusement park featuring a great wooden roller coaster named the Flyer Comet. It closed in 2000 and was eventually demolished to make room for condominiums. Gone but not forgotten, this shirt pays tribute to a New England summer tradition for many families.
